Job summary

Weldaloy Specialty Forgings in Warren, MI is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the quality management system and drive continuous improvement. You will apply 8D methods for containment, root cause, and corrective actions, and collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure conformance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with at least four years of related experience, ISO 9001 knowledge, and proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; four years of related experience or equivalent
ASQ or CQE certification is a plus
Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards; AS9100 preferred
Experience performing internal and supplier quality audits
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills
On-site position with occasional work-from-home possible with supervisor approval

Responsibilities

Maintain Problem Control System using 8D methods including containment, root cause and corrective actions
Champion continuous improvement projects
Perform process analysis using statistical tools and capability studies
Conduct supplier evaluations and performance measurements
Perform internal audits with ISO compliance and maintain quality procedures
Prepare process flow diagrams, risk assessments and data analyses for First Article submissions
Evaluate test results from third-party laboratories and support ERP issues
Develop control plans and inspection points; identify reactions to non-conformances
Maintain relationships with customers and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure order fulfillment
