Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess nonconforming products or materials.
  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System providing maintenance to the Inspection Planning. Performing qualification and monitoring of processes and products, coordinating preventive and corrective actions, leading internal audits and interfacing with regulatory authorities and external auditors.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • Prepares, compiles, and maintains all controlled documentation required for regulatory and policy compliance.
  • May specialize in the areas of product design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, product reliability, customer service, part warranty, inventory control, research and development or product packaging/delivery.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all quality engineering functions for assigned product lines.
  • Direct and coordinate the overall quality specifications and standards for materials, processes, and finished products to meet customer purchase order requirements
  • Process and Manage customer Corrective Action Requests investigation, response and closure including trending of defect data and implementation of corrective action
  • Manage Foreign Object program and provide metrics upon request
  • Support regulatory and quality management system compliance and optimization of quality systems procedures relating to product complaint handling, adverse event reporting and product field actions through development, maintenance and improvement of documented processes
  • Develop and implement daily quality metrics to drive manufacturing and business results
  • Plan and supervise studies aimed at improving product quality and reliability
  • Contact customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality issues
  • Ensure a means of collecting and distributing compiled information in order to improve quality
  • Responsible for the administration of the quality system, including implementation and maintenance to regulatory requirements and standards such as applicable AS/ISO standards
  • Ensure safe practices are used in compliance with all governmental regulations
  • Identify, drive, mentor, and implement projects that improve overall production quality.
  • Conduct training to quality processes as needed
  • Responsible for the Quality of all in-house manufactured products
  • Manages foreign country required documentation process and review.
  • Confers with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes and solving quality issues.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education:
  • B.A. / B.S. Engineering or 8-10 years of experience in aviation required without a degree.
  • Quality Engineering preferred
Experience:
  • Generally, 2-4 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline working in Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment for aviation production
  • DCMAI 8210.c knowledge dealing with documents in an engineering or manufacturing environment to present to DCMA
  • Delmia MES experience desired
  • Must have MRB QA knowledge
  • Must be able to read technical documents
  • Must have knowledge of Aircraft Documentation Delivery process
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient in Excel, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Ability to understand work and procedures, acting in problem solving, suggesting improvements.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft preferred. (A&P preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and strong phone etiquette.
