Job summary

Machina Labs is seeking a senior Quality Engineer to uphold quality across manufacturing and assembly. This hands-on role will work on the factory floor with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to identify issues, investigate root causes, and implement CAPA to improve process capability.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in quality engineering within manufacturing, with GD&T, FAI, MRB, and experience with ISO 9001/AS9100. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, and stock options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Quality role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment supporting production operations.
• Strong understanding of quality methodologies including Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, and First Article Inspection.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
• Experience with inspection equipment and measurement techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills across departments.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve quality procedures, inspection plans, and work instructions.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product verification.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation for quality compliance.
• Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support supplier quality initiatives and MRB activities.
• Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.
