Summary

The Quality Engineer designs, installs, and evaluates quality assurance (QA) process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques. Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Analyzes production and service limitations and standards. Monitors manufacturing processes, fabrication, inspection, test and shipping activities. Recommends revisions of specifications. Formulates QA policies and procedures and conducts training on QA concepts and tools. Interfaces with other engineering functions as well as customers and suppliers on quality‑related issues.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze routine contract requirements to determine quality characteristics to be controlled and the necessary controls.
  • Validate SPC limits and controls; audit processes to ensure proper use and corrective action.
  • Review contract data item descriptions, establish necessary controls for compliance.
  • Create control plans aligning to customer, product, regulatory and sector requirements.
Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, multitasking, organization and prioritization skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and exercise discretion, confidentiality and professional judgement.
  • Understanding and use of continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong customer service and client focus.
  • Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office and WebEx.
  • 4‑year Engineering or Technical degree preferred; equivalent education and experience approved.
  • Proven ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation.
  • Understanding and use of metrics and continuous improvement tools (e.g., DPMO, FPY, Six Sigma, FMEA).
  • Knowledge of domestic and international requirements, standards and regulations (FDA QSR Part 820, ISO, ITAR, IATF, etc.) and support for audits.
  • 5+ years of electronics manufacturing experience; familiarity with advanced technologies; accredited certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, including day and overnight as required.

Geographical Location: Arizona – Tempe.
Physical Location: Tempe, AZ – Southern Ave.
Shift: Shift 1
Work Schedule: M‑F 07:30‑16:00
