Job summary

Abbott is looking for a Quality Engineer II in Westfield, IN, responsible for providing engineering support to ensure the highest quality products. You will participate in root cause analysis, develop quality plans, and lead process improvements.

Job description

Quality Engineer II

This position works out of our Westfield, IN location in the Structural Heart division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease. As the Quality Engineer II, you’ll provide process/quality engineering support to manufacturing and product development teams to ensure delivery of the highest quality products.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and control manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming material, customer complaints) by participating in root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Query and analyze data to support implementation of complex release criteria.
  • Develop product quality plans, specifications, and systems in conjunction with product development team members.
  • Create risk analyses and FMEAs; develop process monitoring systems to reduce variation and eliminate defects.
  • Lead process improvement efforts by capturing quality metric data and performing analysis to enhance product design and new product development.
  • Assist in creation of quality tools and training materials; identify more effective tools and materials.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Influence at peer level and occasionally at first levels of management.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work to meet established schedule.
  • Exercise authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action.
Shift

First Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related discipline
  • 2–5 years of related experience in Quality

Pay

The base pay for this position ranges from $61,300.00 to $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
