Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a Quality Engineer II for the Weaver Lake campus in Maple Grove, MN. You will support multiple manufacturing processes and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to deliver high-quality medical products.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in STEM and at least 2 years in a regulated industry, plus knowledge of CAPA, risk management, and problem-solving methods using Excel and Minitab.

About the role:

The Quality Engineer II will provide engineering support at Boston Scientific's Weaver Lake campus in Maple Grove, Minnesota, within the Manufacturing, Packaging, and Chemistries team, ensuring the delivery of the highest-quality products to our patients.

In this fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Quality Engineer II will support multiple manufacturing processes, partnering cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate is comfortable collaborating with internal customers and suppliers while providing quality leadership to production teams.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Identify and implement effective process control systems to support the development, qualification and ongoing manufacturing of products that meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
  • Lead the implementation of quality assurances, process controls and CAPA systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
  • Serve as an effective leader or team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions and best practices.
  • Apply systematic problem-solving methodologies to identify, prioritize, communicate and resolve quality issues.
  • Support the development and execution of streamlined business systems that effectively identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Foster an inclusive team environment while supporting quality disciplines, decisions and best practices.
Required qualifications:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a regulated industry.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Experience with manufacturing or process engineering, CAPA, risk management or supplier quality.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques, problem-solving methodologies and statistical analysis tools, including Excel and Minitab.
  • Experience managing multiple projects across a variety of organizational functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work successfully with minimal supervision.

Minimum Salary: $71,500

Maximum Salary: $135,800

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com - will vary based on the actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
