Job summary

Marvin Kansas City seeks a Quality Engineer II to drive safety, quality, productivity and cost reduction through process development and process improvement initiatives. You will lead cross-functional teams and support ISO/CE certifications and SOPs across manufacturing.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, strong communication, and at least three years in project management, process development and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Three years project management experience required.
  • Three years process development/process improvement experience required.
  • Three years experience with continuous improvement methodologies required.
  • Six Sigma certification/experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary resource in the implementation and management of quality management system processes including ISO & CE certifications and SOPs.
  • Support engineering efforts to analyze, identify, and resolve production line problems to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Serve as a resource to internal departments to resolve issues related to incoming parts and develop corrective actions.
  • Organize and schedule quality audits, develop and manage supporting documentation and communicate results.
  • Observe continuous improvement testing efforts and coordinate root cause analysis of product failures.
  • Support Research and Development efforts to correct any issues with current products.
  • Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams.
  • Develop strategies to reduce instances of field service calls.
  • Research measurement technology.

Job Overview

The Quality Engineer II support the key fundamentals of manufacturing; Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction initiatives through process development and process improvement projects. Projects are driven by reduction to cost of poor quality, process/product improvement, operations capital investment plan, overall ROI, product development initiatives and the operations business plan.

Highlights of your role
