Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen the quality organization, driving root cause analysis and cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing teams. The role focuses on process improvement, supplier quality, and robust quality plans to support aerospace, automotive, electronics, and industrial sectors.

The ideal candidate has a strong quality background, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with ERP/MES systems and CAD tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 requirements a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience in manufacturing quality.
  • Experience in process design, optimization and measurement systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review processes with assembly and testing to ensure operations follow procedures.
  • Develop understanding of assembly and testing methods and evaluate tests and equipment.
  • Identify quality problems and develop solutions.
  • Audit suppliers and monitor quality and delivery performance.
  • Initiate corrective actions with suppliers and participate in MRB meetings.
  • Provide technical support to assembly and test teams and read blueprints for QIP.

Job Requirements
  • Works closely with assembly and testing departments to review processes and ensure assembly and testing operations are performed in accordance with established procedures. Supports the development of new test programs and plans.
  • Develops a strong understanding of Assembly and Testing Methods and evaluates and ensures precision and accuracy processes, tests & measurements and production equipment.
  • Identifies quality related problems in products and processes and develops solutions.
  • Reviews, develops and initiates quality standards for tests, inspections and evaluations.
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports on supplier quality discrepancies related to process/assembly systems and ensures that performance and quality of products conform to established company specifications.
  • Works closely with Purchasing, Production, Engineering and Supply Chain departments to resolve quality related issues.
  • Conducts on-site supplier product and process audits and develops programs to monitor and improve supplier quality and delivery performance.
  • Initiates and monitors corrective actions and works with suppliers to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Active Participant in MRB meetings and decision making
  • Updates customers in a timely fashion regarding product quality and project requests
  • Coordinate with Plant Quality Managers to discuss and resolve product quality issues raised by customers
  • Issue Quality Alerts for non-conforming product delivered to customers.
  • Assist in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurrence of non‑conformance including corrective action verification.
  • Create Quality Improvement Plans for specific product lines
  • Assist in the approval of First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
  • Promote and Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the quality Organization for proactive tools such Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, Advance Product and Quality Planning (APQP) Statistical Process control (SPC) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Experience in complying with customer, statutory and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to direct identification of root cause, drive improvement actions and resolve problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of and experience in problem-solving tools such as 8D, 19P, 5 whys and fishbone Analysis
  • Read engineering drawings interpreting Geometric Tolerancing and develop the corresponding quality inspection plans (QIP) for components and assemblies
  • Read and interpret quality specifications and requirements
  • Provide technical support to assembly and test employees
What Your Background Should Look Like
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification at Green Belt level or higher preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
Critical Experience
  • Minimum 2 years related experience
  • Manufacturing Experience within the Aerospace Industry is preferred
  • The ideal candidate should have a quality-focused mindset, experience building relationships with key stakeholders in a specialized industry with deep process validation knowledge.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 requirements a plus
  • Experience in process design, optimization, and improvement with measurable outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with quality control methodologies, inspection techniques, and testing equipment
  • Experience working with manufacturing systems such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), or other quality management software
  • Proven ability to work with complex data sets and apply statistical tools to support data-driven decision-making
  • Industry experience in automotive, aerospace, electronics, or industrial manufacturing sectors
  • Experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of quality tools including, but not limited to, APQP, FMEA, SPC, 8D, 5W problem solving tools, PPAP and FAI’s.
  • Experience in complying with customer, statutory and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth ability to direct identification of root cause, drive improvement actions and resolve problems.
  • Competence in process simulation, CAD software, or digital manufacturing tools
  • Ability to Read & Interpret Blueprints
  • Familiar with standard inspection tools and equipment & geometric tolerancing & dimensioning

Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $90,000 – 133,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
