Abbott is seeking an entry-level Quality Engineer I in Temecula, CA for a 7‑month onsite contract. You will provide quality engineering support across manufacturing, QA, and engineering to ensure safe, compliant products and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes investigations, data analysis, and Risk Management in a regulated medical device environment. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in a technical field and 0–3 years of related experience, with knowledge of FDA QSR, cGMP, and ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Life Sciences, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
• Internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience in a regulated industry preferred.
• Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations, cGMP, and ISO 13485 preferred.
• Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product quality and compliance in a medical device manufacturing environment.
• Support investigations related to nonconformances, defects, deviations, and customer quality concerns.
• Participate in root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor quality metrics such as yield, scrap, defect rates, and process performance.
• Support continuous improvement projects to reduce variation and improve quality.
• Assist with risk management activities including risk assessments and FMEA reviews.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation, procedures, reports, and technical assessments.
• Support cGMP, GDP, FDA QSR, and ISO 13485 compliance.
