Job summary

Daikin Applied, the world’s largest HVAC company, is seeking a Quality Engineer in Staunton, VA to ensure the quality of processes, materials, and products. You will conduct quality reviews, detect defects, plan improvements, and train on quality topics.

Responsibilities include reviewing design docs for UL/ISO9001 compliance, investigating quality concerns, using SPC, FMEA, and performing capability studies. Collaboration with manufacturing engineering to solve non-conformities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 0–2 years of related experience.
• ASQ certification preferred.
• Quality Control Engineer Auditor preferred.

• Investigate customer/warranty quality concerns
• Document data obtained during quality assurance reviews and use quality assurance tools such as statistical process control (SPC), and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
• Assist in performing process capability studies
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and production teams to solve quality non-conformities
• Present significant concerns or developments identified during quality assurance activities
• Gather, analyze, and present technical information to team members and management utilizing Pareto Analysis, Frequency Distribution, and 5 WHY techniques
• Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality standards, including current ISO requirements

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $62,000 to $100,500 in VA. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
