Job summary

Exact Sciences in Madison, Wisconsin seeks a software tester to join our quality assurance team. You will participate in requirements, design, and test plan meetings and create manual and automated test cases for new features and components.

You will develop UI and REST API test scripts, run SQL queries to verify data integrity, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, high-quality releases in an Agile environment. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 1+ years of experience with software testing.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements, design, and review meetings.
  • Participate in development of test strategy, test plan, test cases, and risk assessment.
  • Create, maintain and execute test cases/test scripts (manual and automated) for new features and components.
  • Develop test scripts to validate UI functionality and REST APIs.
  • Create and execute SQL queries to verify data integrity, correctness, data transformation and data quality.
  • Report, track and escalation anomalies discovered during testing and ensure closure on the issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective testing for releases.

Position Overview

Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following :
  • Participate in requirements, design, and review meetings.
  • Participate in development of test strategy, test plan, test cases, and risk assessment leading to successful implementation and timely project completion.
  • Create, maintain and execute test cases/test scripts (manual and automated) for the user stories developed to support the new features, as well as components.
  • Develop test scripts to validate the UI functionality and REST API’s.
  • Create and execute SQL queries to verify data completeness, correctness, data transformation and data quality.
  • Report, track and escalation anomalies discovered during testing and ensure closure on the issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective testing as part of a regular release schedule.
  • Assist with defining and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication inclusive of technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner.
  • Ability to prioritize and drive results with a high emphasis on quality.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 1+ years of experience with software testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience with web-based enterprise application testing.
  • 1+ years of experience using one or more tools; Selenium, Postman, SOAPUI, JMeter, preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum-like environment.

The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
