Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Software/Test Engineer in Madison, WI to join our quality assurance team. You will design, implement, and execute test plans for UI and REST APIs, write automated/test scripts, and validate data through SQL queries.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements, design, and review meetings.
  • Develop and execute test strategy, plan, test cases, and risk assessments for timely project completion.
  • Create, maintain and execute test cases/test scripts (manual and automated) for new features and components.
  • Develop test scripts to validate UI functionality and REST APIs.
  • Create and execute SQL queries to verify data completeness, correctness and data quality.
  • Report, track and close anomalies discovered during testing, ensuring issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective testing within regular release cycles.
  • Assist with defining and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication, including technical documentation.

Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following :
  • Participate in requirements, design, and review meetings.
  • Participate in development of test strategy, test plan, test cases, and risk assessment leading to successful implementation and timely project completion.
  • Create, maintain and execute test cases/test scripts (manual and automated) for the user stories developed to support the new features, as well as components.
  • Develop test scripts to validate the UI functionality and REST API's.
  • Create and execute SQL queries to verify data completeness, correctness, data transformation and data quality.
  • Report, track and escape anomalies discovered during testing and ensure closure on the issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective testing as part of a regular release schedule.
  • Assist with defining and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication inclusive of technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner.
  • Ability to prioritize and drive results with a high emphasis on quality.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 1+ years of experience with software testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience with web-based enterprise application testing.
  • 1+ years of experience using one or more tools; Selenium, Postman, SOAPUI, JMeter, preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum-like environment.

The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
