Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Erie, PA is seeking a quality engineer with 0-2 years experience to support aerospace and industrial quality systems. You will analyze customer and regulatory requirements, lead RCCA using 8-D, and participate in design reviews and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• A solid working knowledge of aerospace or industrial quality and inspection systems and have knowledge of quality engineering techniques with an emphasis on root cause analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
• Works well in a team-based environment as a leader, facilitator, or individual contributor.
• Possess project management skills related to planning.

Responsibilities

• Determine customer and regulatory quality requirements and analyze for compatibility with Parker Lord products and processes.
• Provide technical directions to manufacturing, production, and support staff and resolve manufacturing difficulties.
• Analyze quality trends and participate in process improvement activities.
• Lead/Coordinate internal activities for major customer, regulatory, and third-party certification efforts.
• Develop and improve quality systems and processes to assure customer satisfaction; lead quality audits.
• Lead major quality projects and programs; participate with new product introduction teams.
• Prepare and maintain detailed quality plans, control plans, inspection/test plans and methods.
• Participate in design reviews and risk analysis for new products/materials; ensure issue resolutions.
• Foster a Zero Defects culture and facilitate RCCA using 8-D format.
• Apply advanced technical principles and contribute to Parker Lord's development.
• Lead portions of large projects as a team member.

• Provide technical directions to manufacturing, production, and support staff and provide resolution of manufacturing difficulties.
• Analyze quality trends and participate in process improvement activities.
• Lead/Coordinate internal activities in support of major customer, regulatory, and third-party certification efforts.
• Develop and improve quality systems and processes to assure customer satisfaction. Lead quality audits to assess compliance and effectiveness.
• Lead major quality projects and programs. Participate with the new product introduction teams to assure all pertinent quality requirements and objectives are understood, communicated and met throughout product lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain detailed quality plans, control plans, inspection/test plans and inspection/test methods for assigned products/materials. Provide direction to affected personnel to ensure complete and timely implementation of the plans.
• Participate in design reviews and risk analysis for new products/materials and technologies. Follow-up to assure resolution of problem areas.
• Foster a Zero Defects culture and facilitate Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) using 8-D format across all disciplines.
• Apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts within Parker Lord.
• Lead portions of large projects as a team member.
