Job summary

Closure Systems International Inc is seeking a Food Safety Quality Engineer to ensure that all food products meet quality standards and comply with applicable food safety regulations. The role supports development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality management systems including HACCP and GMPs.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, food manufacturing, or related environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Preferred).
  • Experience with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety management systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, customer, or third-party audits.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain food safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SQF, BRC, FDA, USDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine food safety audits and inspections.
  • Investigate food safety incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support allergen management and product traceability programs.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring and microbiological testing programs.
  • Perform product evaluations and quality inspections.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Review and verify quality control records and documentation.
  • Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Manage customer complaints and quality-related investigations.
  • Maintain food safety and quality records, reports, and certifications.
  • Prepare documentation for internal, customer, and third-party audits.
  • Ensure accurate completion of regulatory and quality documentation.
  • Assist with annual program reviews and updates.
  • Train employees on food safety, sanitation, GMPs, and quality procedures.
  • Promote a culture of food safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing employee development initiatives.
  • Participate in customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
  • Respond to audit findings and track corrective actions to completion.
  • Assist with maintaining food safety certifications and compliance programs.

Duties and Responsibilities
Food Safety

Educational and Other Skill Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, food manufacturing, or a related environment. Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Preferred)
  • Experience with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety management systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, customer, or third-party audits.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality systems.
  • Understanding of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, SQF, BRC, and preventive controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
