Job summary

Safari Circuits is hiring a Quality Engineer to advance our proactive quality strategy and reduce nonconformances across inspection stages. You will leverage data, risk-based thinking, and structured problem solving to drive continuous improvement and ensure capable processes.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will work cross-functionally to prevent defects, improve FPY, and support supplier quality initiatives while contributing to PPAP submissions and record maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, electronics preferred.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement methods.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and SPC.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher preferred.
• Experience with IPC standards (IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-600) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and provide quality expertise for departmental and cross-functional activities.
• Drive proactive defect prevention through PFMEA, control plans, SPC, and mistake-proofing.
• Investigate internal and external nonconformances and lead root cause analysis.
• Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
• Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection through standardized plans and guide sheets.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to improve process capability and FPY.
• Support new program development, including customer PPAP submissions and record maintenance.
• Investigate and resolve customer quality concerns with a focus on systemic prevention.
• Support supplier quality activities, including incoming NC analysis and supplier CAPA.
• Administer and analyze Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) metrics.
• Support the Quality Management System through quality risk assessments, audits, and data analysis.
• Promote a continuous improvement culture by early escalation and team-driven problem solving.
