Job summary

Siemens Healthineers seeks a Quality Engineer - Electrical & Mechanical Components to join our Molecular Imaging team in Hoffman Estates, IL. You will drive supplier, manufacturing, and product quality across the lifecycle, partnering with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and suppliers.

The role emphasizes qualification, non-conformances, CAPAs, and data-driven improvements using SPC and FMEA. Strong GD&T knowledge and ISO quality-system experience are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or related role.
  • Experience with suppliers, manufacturing processes, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Experience conducting root cause investigations and driving corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and suppliers to establish qualification criteria for new products and components, including First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements are fully understood.
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance scorecards while identifying trends and driving continuous improvement.
  • Investigate non-conforming materials by performing root cause analysis and determine disposition and corrective actions.
  • Lead Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and quality trends while identifying opportunities to improve supplier performance and reduce quality risks.
  • Develop supplier quality plans and inspection strategies for incoming materials.
  • Review engineering deviations and substitutions to ensure proper approval and documentation.
  • Conduct supplier quality system and process audits while assessing manufacturing capability and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Perform supplier risk assessments and support supplier development initiatives.
  • Utilize statistical analysis tools to evaluate process capability and verify corrective action effectiveness.
  • Support manufacturing teams by troubleshooting supplier-related quality issues and driving timely resolution.

Our Molecular Imaging business line has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Quality Engineer - Electrical & Mechanical Components. This position reports directly to the Manager of Supplier Quality and plays a key role in ensuring supplier quality, manufacturing quality, and product quality throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and suppliers to ensure materials and components consistently meet engineering specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role is responsible for driving supplier quality, resolving non-conformance issues, improving supplier performance, and supporting the successful introduction of new products.

You are responsible for:
  • Partnering with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and suppliers to establish qualification criteria for new products and components, including First Article Inspections (FAIs).

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or a related engineering role.
  • Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing processes, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Experience conducting root cause investigations and driving corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

The base pay range for this position is: $89,220 - $122,672
