Job summary

The Quality Engineer role at 3M in Angleton, TX will join a diverse manufacturing team to drive product quality improvements and operational excellence. You will apply statistical methods, lead KPI tracking, and collaborate across functions to ensure customer-first quality and robust processes.

You’ll use tools such as FMEA, SPC, and control plans to identify opportunities, execute priority projects, and support a culture of Continuous Improvement and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in science or engineering required.
• Two years' manufacturing/quality engineering experience in diverse environments.
• Experience with quality engineering tools (listed above) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to drive quality improvements.
• Promote "Quality as a Competitive Advantage" with customer focus and sustainability.
• Identify product quality improvements and KPI tracking (LSS, COQ).
• Provide statistical insights via control charts and SPC/SQC methods.
• Support cross-functional teams across global 3M locations.

Your Skills And Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
• Two (2) years of combined plant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Engineering and/or Product Engineering (private, public, government or military environment)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience with quality engineering tools such as: (DQM, House of Quality, PPU, Statistics, APQP, FMEA, control plans, PPAP, SAP and/or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) documentation systems)
• Experience with change management, complaint management, supplier management, auditing [International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 and/or Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Certifications in quality engineering, quality auditing or quality management from American Society for Quality-ASQ™ certification(s) such as: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP)

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $98,964 - $120,957, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
