Job summary

Bosch is seeking a 2nd shift Quality Engineer to lead rapid quality responses and protect production continuity at our Kansas manufacturing site. You will ensure adherence to Bosch Quality Standards and coordinate containment, escalation, and problem solving with cross‑functional teams.

You will drive structured root cause analysis (8D, QRQC, A3) and implement sustainable corrective actions while supporting process verification and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing quality or production engineering experience.
  • Experience leading structured problem‑solving activities (A3, 8D, DMAIC, 5 Why).
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015).
  • Knowledge of Quality Core Tools (Control Plan, PFMEA, SPC, MSA).
  • Experience with LPC, process audits, and shopfloor quality systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
  • HVAC manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality Support for 2nd Shift Operations and act as the primary Quality Engineer on the 2nd shift.
  • Drive rapid containment actions for internal quality issues, customer concerns, supplier issues, and production abnormalities.
  • Initiate and coordinate quality escalation according to BOSCH standards.
  • Work with Manufacturing, Production, Logistics, and Engineering to resolve issues quickly and safely.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (8D, QRQC, A3, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
  • Define and verify containment actions to prevent non-conforming products reaching customers.
  • Support disposition decisions for non-conforming materials with MRB and cross‑functional teams.
  • Monitor daily quality KPIs, identify risks, analyze trends, and drive improvements.

Job Description
What You Will Do

You will be responsible for providing quality leadership during the 2nd shift by ensuring rapid response to quality issues, protecting the customer, maintaining stable production, and driving sustainable process improvements. This role serves as the primary quality representative for manufacturing operations during the 2nd shift, ensuring effective containment, escalation, and problem resolution while supporting BOSCH Quality Standards.

How You Will Do It
  • Lead Quality Support for 2nd Shift Operations – Act as the primary Quality Engineer during the 2nd shift, ensuring timely decisions to maintain production continuity while protecting product quality.
  • Rapid Response to Quality Issues – Drive immediate containment actions for internal quality issues, customer concerns, supplier issues, and production abnormalities to minimize production disruptions.
  • Escalation Management – Initiate and coordinate quality escalation according to BOSCH escalation standards whenever product quality, customer satisfaction, or production stability is at risk.
  • Production Process Support – Work closely with Manufacturing, Production, Logistics, and Engineering teams to ensure quality issues are resolved quickly while maintaining safe and stable production.
  • Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis – Lead structured problem-solving activities (8D, QRQC, A3, 5 Why, Ishikawa) and ensure sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Containment & Customer Protection – Define, implement, and verify effective containment actions to prevent non-conforming products from reaching customers.
  • Process Verification – Perform shopfloor quality verification through Layered Process Confirmation (LPC), process audits, Gemba activities, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to BOSCH Quality Standards.
  • Quality Decision Making – Support disposition decisions for non-conforming materials in coordination with MRB and cross‑functional teams.
  • Quality KPI Monitoring – Monitor daily quality performance, identify risks, analyze trends, and initiate improvement actions to reduce COPQ.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation of BOSCH Quality initiatives to improve process capability, standardization, and operational excellence.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate documentation of quality incidents, containment activities, investigations, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Communication & Shift Handover – Ensure effective communication between shifts, documenting open quality issues, risks, and action plans to maintain operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
