Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Quality Engineer for a contract role based in Waukegan, IL. You will maintain and improve QMS procedures, lead CAPA activities, and drive continuous quality improvements across manufacturing processes.

You will collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to resolve issues, support new product introductions, and standardize processes to promote quality excellence. This onsite role offers comprehensive benefits and competitive hourly pay.

  • Mentor and support the development of quality assurance team members.

Job description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role partners with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues, support new product introductions, and enhance manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and manage Quality Assurance (QA) plans for new product introductions using APQP and process optimization methodologies.
  • Lead root cause investigations and drive CAPA activities for nonconformances.
  • Analyze quality and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support process validation, test method validation, and MSA activities.
  • Provide quality input during process design, development, and implementation phases.
  • Improve inspection methods, quality documentation, and training programs.
  • Manage supplier, customer, and internal quality issues, ensuring effective corrective actions.
  • Support supplier quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize manufacturing processes and promote quality excellence.
  • Maintain document control systems and provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support the development of quality assurance team members.

This is a Contract position based out of Waukegan, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 – $46.00/hr.
