Job summary

Muncie Power Products in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead internal and external ISO audits and drive quality initiatives across assembly and manufacturing. You will analyze warranty data, support corrective actions, and improve processes to enhance product quality.

The role requires a strong background in quality systems, ASQ certifications, and frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum associate degree or five (5) years of equivalent work experience.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and ASQ Certified Auditor desirable.
  • Basic blueprint and geometric drawing and tolerance skills to interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the manufacturing and inspection plan, and associated documentation in support of the product assembly.
  • Perform daily audits of each product line assembly cell.
  • Review and improve assembly techniques for improvements related to product quality.
  • Identify, justify, and purchase appropriate gauging to support inspection plans.
  • Support the identification and resolution of product or quality system problems by: Execute the quality function for the non-conforming material review process for both purchased and internally assembled components; Support the solution of internally generated problems through root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Monitor the distribution system quality system performance and initiate corrective action when necessary.
  • Maintain and assess both the supplier corrective action request (SCAR) and corrective action request (CAR) logs, review responses to open internal CARs they have issued, and support all departments with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review and improve assembly techniques for improvements related to product quality.
  • Develop a plan for tracking failures for each assembly cell.
  • Develop a plan to address the root cause of warranty issues.
  • Provide administrative service for warranty analysis of non-PTO items.
  • Develop a plan for validation of corrective action results.
  • Design work-holding and mistake-proofing devices that would assist in the production of individual components for the assembly cells for testing.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role, you will perform internal and external ISO audits to support ongoing quality improvement. You will also support internal and external quality initiatives, assist with warranty analysis for assembly and manufacturing, and provide other quality department services. Success in this position requires drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach.

YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • Minimum associate degree or five (5) years of equivalent work experience
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and ASQ Certified Auditor desirable
  • Basic blueprint and geometric drawing and tolerance skills to interpret drawings
  • Basic inspection skills with hand gauging instruments
  • Basic machining knowledge of part fixtures and work holding
  • Ability to utilize personal computers to run software programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to document problem-solving efforts
  • Must be willing to travel if required
  • Effectively able to present information in one-on-one and small-group situations
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
