Acro Service Corp in Toledo, OH is seeking a Quality Engineer to implement, monitor, and improve the quality of our operations and products. You will work with the local leadership team to drive continuous improvement and ensure processes meet established quality standards.

The role focuses on auditing, PFMEA/CP development, MSA and capability studies, and driving corrective actions while supporting data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with quality statistics and analysis techniques.
  • IATF-16949 Certified Auditor preferred or achievable within one year of hire.
  • Capable of performing duties with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the internal audit function for the quality system.
  • Use the internal audit system to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage the documentation change management system.
  • Develop PFMEAs, control plans and work instructions, using risk assessments.
  • Perform MSA and capability studies of gages and equipment.
  • Address quality rejects including customer-returned material.
  • Assist and coach others in the use of statistical techniques.
  • Assist with process improvements and data analysis.
  • Conduct process capability studies and quality audits.
  • Conduct and participate in customer visits and reviews.
  • Other duties as required.

Employment Type: 1 Year Contract on W2 (Temp to Hire)

SUMMARY: The Quality Engineer role will implement, monitor, and improve the quality of our operational processes and products. The role will work with the local leadership team to implement quality measures, troubleshooting, and ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards, with a focus on auditing and driving continuous improvement of the plant’s manufacturing process.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage the internal audit function for the quality system
  • Use the internal audit system to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage the documentation change management system
  • Participate in cross functional teams to develop of PFMEAs, control plans and work instructions, utilizing risk assessments to ensure process controls deliver continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Perform MSA and capability studies of new and current gages and equipment.
  • Address quality rejects including customer-returned material
  • Assist and coach others in the use of statistical techniques
  • Assist with process improvements and data analysis
  • Conduct process capability studies and quality audits
  • Conduct and participate in customer visits and reviews
  • Other duties as required

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience with FMEAs, Process Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong project management skills and leadership abilities
  • Proficient in the use of Minitab or other statistical analysis programs
  • Proficient in the understanding of Engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Proficient in understanding of APQP and program management techniques

EXPERIENCE:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, with experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in Quality related statistics.
  • Certified Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 preferred or attained within one year of hire/placement.
  • Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical engineering, with 2-5 years of experience required.
