Job summary

JBL Resources in Kalamazoo, Michigan seeks a Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing quality team. The role focuses on maintaining product and process quality, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement across suppliers and internal processes.

You will own CAPAs, manage non-conformances, monitor KPIs, collaborate with operations, and support audits. A bachelor’s degree and up to 2 years in quality or regulatory roles are expected, with strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 0–2 years of experience in a Quality or Regulatory Affairs role; prior industry experience is desirable.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, GDP, and GMP concepts.
• Understanding of engineering and quality principles, including risk management, CAPA, audits, and statistics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, spoken English, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and work as part of a multi-site team.
• Knowledge of risk-based thinking and statistical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with Operations and Business Functions to ensure the quality performance of products and processes.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with internal and external teams to resolve quality issues.
• Owning and managing internal and supplier-driven Non-Conformances (NCs), ensuring timely investigation and closure.
• Supporting or owning Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) through root-cause analysis to closure.
• Dispositioning nonconforming products through the MRB and issuing NCs as appropriate.
• Communicating with suppliers regarding NCs and escalating SCARs as needed.
• Participating in the development and continuous improvement of internal manufacturing processes for existing products.
• Reviewing and supporting Change Management activities for both supplier and internal changes.
• Creating and reviewing new or revised procedures.
• Maintaining and analyzing KPIs to monitor product and process quality, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions.
• Supporting the execution and analysis of manufacturing complaints and product field actions.
• Applying statistical methods for process analysis and control.
• Providing QA support during internal and external audits.
• Supporting process and equipment validation, qualification, and MSA.
• Executing internal quality deliverables for engineering changes, manufacturing transfers, and supplier changes.
