Job summary

SPX FLOW, now ITT Flow Technologies is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive corrective and preventive actions for internal and customer issues. You will interface with customers, sales, vendors, and internal teams to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing problems.

The role requires mechanical/technical engineering background, manufacturing experience, and proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and Epicor.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/technical engineering Bachelor's degree or 3–5 years of direct mechanical assembly/machining experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical advisor to promote issue resolution and reduce cost of quality.
• Provide technical support to eliminate recurrence for non-conformances.

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is the primary contact to support, initiate and drive sustainable corrective and preventative action resolution of technical internal and customer post-shipment inquiries. This position interfaces with customers, sales representatives, SPX FLOW vendors and all internal departments to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing problems experienced by our internal teams and customers.

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is the primary contact to support, initiate and drive sustainable corrective and preventative action resolution of technical internal and customer post-shipment inquiries. This position interfaces with customers, sales representatives, SPX FLOW vendors and all internal departments to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing problems experienced by our internal teams and customers.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Function as a technical advisor / problem solver for internal and external teams to promote issue resolution and reduce cost of poor quality (Warranty, scrap and rework).
• Provide technical support to eliminate reoccurrence for internal and externally experienced non-conformances.
• Review verbal and written communication to interpret customer needs and develop action plans.
• Develops innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production problems through soliciting experience from internal and external sources, identification and implementation of manufacturing process controls by performing process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
• Refine and enhance processes by applying root cause, corrective action continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques to areas of production.
• Prepare documentation for new and existing processes and manufacturing procedures. Develop manufacturing work instructions, procedures, and standard work using engineering methods.
• Manage correction of material from goods returned from the field and author root cause and corrective action reports for associated material.
• Maintain activity logs, schedules and performance measures using assigned tools.
• Participate in overall teamwork and recommend process and functional improvements. Monitor and assist with and implement corrective action activities.
• Determine root cause of failure to implement changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods.
• Assures product and process quality by designing error proof mechanisms; establishing standards; and validating manufacturing processes.
• Lead and manage the site’s ISO certification program, including maintaining compliance with applicable ISO standards, coordinating internal and external audits, addressing audit findings, and driving corrective actions required to maintain certification.
• Engage in constructive conflict and issue resolution.
• Displays, and leads by example, the SPX FLOW Leadership standards.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Good critical thinking skills with the ability to develop alternative solutions.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal personnel, sales representatives, and customers.
• Technical knowledge of mechanical assemblies. Knowledge of Mixers and their applications is a plus.
• Ability to navigate within an ERP system (SAP) Proficiency in navigating and utilizing ERP systems, including Epicor, to support quality, manufacturing, and material-related activities.
• Software applications proficiency (MS Office, SAP, other technical applications)
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to write work instructions & related documentation.
• A basic working knowledge of controls
• A positive attitude & hands-on mentality

Education And Experience

• Mechanical / technical engineering Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years of direct mechanical assembly/machining experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
