Job summary

Plastic Executive Recruiters is partnering with a rapidly growing injection-molder to hire a Quality Engineer who will support and advance the company\'s quality systems and drive continuous improvement. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• Min 3 years of quality/manufacturing experience; injection molding preferred.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015 and quality management systems.
• Internal Auditor certification for ISO 900, ISO 13485 and FDA or equivalent auditing.
• Experience PFMEAs, Control Plans, and standard work documentation.
• Knowledge of SPC, process capability, and QC methodologies.
• Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485 requirements.
• Participate in internal quality audits and corrective actions.
• Lead PPAP/APQP processes ensuring customer requirements are met.
• Develop and improve PFMEAs, Control Plans, and documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing/engineering to resolve quality issues.
• Lead root cause analysis using 8D and CAR processes.
• Support customer quality requirements and KPI monitoring.
• Supervise quality technicians during daily production.

The Position

The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the company's quality management systems and ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Quality Manager, this individual will support all aspects of quality engineering and lead quality technicians in maintaining consistent product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485 quality management system requirements.
• Participate in and support internal quality audits and corrective action activities.
• Lead and oversee the PPAP and APQP processes, ensuring customer and project requirements are met.
• Develop, maintain, and improve quality documentation, including PFMEAs, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and related process documentation.
• Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead and support problem‑solving activities utilizing tools such as 8D, root cause analysis, and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
• Support customer quality requirements and ensure consistent adherence to established quality standards.
• Lead and provide directions to quality technicians in support of daily production and quality objectives.
• Monitor and support departmental KPIs and identify opportunities for quality and process improvement.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, Kaizen, and plant safety initiatives.
• Utilize statistical and process control tools to improve process capability and reduce variation.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a combination of technical knowledge, manufacturing experience, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent quality experience will be considered.
• A minimum of three years of quality or manufacturing experience; experience in injection molding is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting ISO 9001:2015 and quality management systems.
• Internal Auditor certification for ISO 900, ISO 13485 and FDA regulations, or equivalent training and demonstrated auditing experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining PFMEAs, Control Plans, and standardized work or process documentation.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability, and process control methodologies.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
