Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical field or related experience.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 9001.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and apply QA principles.
  • Experience with RCA, CAPA and quality reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 and Metso standards.
  • Coordinate ISO 9001 audits, gap assessments, and CAPA closures.
  • Develop quality documentation and inspection plans.
  • Analyze quality data and create dashboards to track metrics.
  • Lead RCA and CAPA activities to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage calibration for inspection and test equipment.
  • Investigate quality incidents and non-conformances.
  • Drive Lean Six Sigma based improvements.

Introduction

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Mesa Service Center Repair Operations Team. In this role, you will provide technical and quality support for repair operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support compliance with ISO 9001 quality management requirements, and lead root cause investigations to improve operational performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in ensuring products, processes, and quality systems comply with regulatory, customer, and company standards. You will report to the Quality Manager.

This role is based in Mesa, Arizona.

This role may require travel to vendor and customer sites as needed, up to 10%.

You will join a team of quality professionals focused on supporting repair operations, quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Mesa Service Center. Our team plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining ISO 9001 compliance, reducing quality risks, and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective quality management processes. We collaborate closely with operations, engineering, suppliers, auditors, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive quality performance and support business objectives. What you’ll do

  • Lead and support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements, Metso standards, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate ISO 9001 compliance and certification activities, including audits, documentation management, gap assessments, corrective actions, and closure of audit findings.
  • Develop, maintain, and standardize quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, inspection plans, and quality records.
  • Analyze quality data and develop reports and dashboards to monitor key quality metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Manage calibration systems for inspection, measurement, and test equipment, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Support investigations of quality incidents, non-conforming materials, repair processes, inspection results, and customer concerns.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and quality assurance methodologies to improve operational performance and product quality.

What you’ll bring

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, business discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of related quality engineering, manufacturing, industrial equipment, or quality assurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply quality assurance principles in a manufacturing or repair environment.
  • Experience with quality documentation, RCA, CAPA, quality reporting, SAP QM, Microsoft Office, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Effective communication skills, strong customer focus, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience performing or supporting NDT inspections and willingness to obtain NDT certification within the first 90 days.
  • Nice to have: Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing or repair, foundry, fabrication and machining processes, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks.
