Job summary

Synectics Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a seasoned Quality Engineer to lead audits of the Quality Management System and drive compliance across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.

You will coordinate customer and regulatory audits, implement CAPA programs, and maintain critical documentation to support AS9100/IPC standards. The role requires a minimum of 7 years in quality engineering within an EMS setting, strong analytical and mentoring skills, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards, including IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-600.
  • Knowledge of AS9100D, MIL-STD-883, and aerospace and defense quality requirements.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), SPC, MSA, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with corrective and preventive actions, supplier quality, audits, and quality documentation.
  • Ability to train and mentor employees and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with quality, data analysis, and productivity software.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and 5S methodologies.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Legal US Permanent Resident due to ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of the Quality Management System and collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain internal audit programs.
  • Participate in external supplier audits and ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Support quality inspection activities by interpreting and applying appropriate acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to improve processes, strengthen compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support customer source inspection activities and ensure readiness of required documentation and products.
  • Develop and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Manage SCAR, CAR, and ICAR activities and maintain accurate records through timely closure.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate customer and regulatory audits, including ISO 13485, NADCAP, and AS9100 audits.
  • Develop, update, and maintain quality procedures in accordance with applicable industry and regulatory standards.
  • Review, train, and support personnel in the preparation and accuracy of AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, and other quality methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety procedures and company standards.
