Job summary

CAMACO LLC, located in Lorain, OH, seeks a Quality Assurance professional to ensure customer satisfaction through rigorous audits, process control and continuous improvement in automotive seating manufacturing.

You will lead APQP/PPAP activities, develop validation tests, and collaborate with engineering to implement corrective actions. Strong GD&T, AIAG methodologies and effective cross-functional communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field; 3+ years in quality assurance.
  • Experience in automotive seating is required.
  • Proficient in APQP, SPC, FMEA, and 8D problem solving.
  • Strong GD&T, blueprint reading, AIAG methods, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Review quality policies, communications, programs and practices to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform internal audits and oversee manufacturing to ensure documentation aligns with methods.
  • Coordinate first article build and ensure traceability to standards at release.
  • Develop test methods and maintain test equipment; perform performance validation tests.
  • Review AIAG 16949 documentation and support APQP/8D activities.
  • Investigate and address customer quality issues; perform corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage PPAP-related production part builds and layouts; collaborate with engineering on changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

To review the quality policies, communications, programs and practices to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved. May develop changes to plans and/or methodology. Provides recommendations for improvements to meet program objectives.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Performing internal audits.Provide oversight of the manufacture of products to ensure that engineering documentation is consistent with manufacturing methods employed.Coordinate activities associated with “first article build” of new products, ensuring that fabricated items are traceable to documented standards at the time of release of product into the production mode.Develop test methods/procedures to support product validation efforts.Maintain test equipment to traceable standards.Perform performance validation tests to meet customer specifications.Generate test reports of performance validation tests.Review of AITF 16969 documentation, instructions, procedures and quality manuals, and ensuring operations is in compliance.Provides support to AITF 16949 activities.FMA, 8D and SPCCustomer quality issues and problem solving to include customer communication & customer visits as required.Manage production part builds and layouts as it pertains to PPAP.Work directly with engineering regarding issues and or engineering changes.Investigates/supports corrective action activities required by either internal or external customer concerns.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.3 plus years of work experience in quality assurance.Experience in automotive seating.CompetenciesTechnical CapacityThoroughnessCollaborationComputer ProficiencyAbility to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers & suppliersAPQP, SPC, FMEA, & 8D Problem SolvingAIAG MethodsBlueprint ReadingGD&T skillsConfidentialitySupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting and on the plant floor.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
