Job summary

AJ Augur Group, LLC - Plastics Search & Recruitment Experts seeks a Quality Engineer to drive root cause analysis and implement preventive quality systems in a Northwest Indiana manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in quality within manufacturing, strong RCA skills, and experience with CAPA, ISO 9001, and data-driven improvements. Relocation assistance is available and a bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of quality experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with root cause analysis and structured problem solving.
• Experience with CAPA / corrective and preventive actions.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
• Experience analyzing quality data and identifying trends.
• Knowledge of SPC and other quality/problem-solving tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to influence change without necessarily having direct authority.
• ISO 9001 internal auditor certification is preferred, and Six Sigma or Lean experience would be helpful.

Responsibilities

• Investigate quality issues and perform detailed root cause analysis.
• Lead and support CAPA activities.
• Analyze quality data to identify recurring problems, trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop corrective actions and preventative systems that reduce future quality issues.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing quality problems and work with operations, engineering and other departments to resolve them.
• Support and help lead the facility’s ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Conduct internal audits and support surveillance and recertification audits.
• Perform product and process audits to verify compliance with established specifications and quality requirements.
• Investigate customer complaints and help develop appropriate corrective actions.
• Review quality documentation, inspection requirements, sampling procedures and engineering information.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects.
• Provide quality-related training when needed.

We are recruiting a Quality Engineer for an established manufacturing company in Northwest Indiana.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys getting beyond the surface of quality problems and figuring out why they are happening in the first place.

The company is specifically looking for someone who can strengthen its capabilities in root cause analysis, CAPA, quality data analysis, ISO 9001 and preventative quality systems. The goal is not simply to react to problems. They want someone who can identify trends, determine the real cause of recurring issues and put systems in place to prevent them from happening again.

Plastics experience is not required. Strong manufacturing quality experience from other industries will be considered.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

Candidates without a degree will still be considered if they have strong quality experience and can demonstrate the technical and problem-solving skills required for the position.

The Quality Team

You will join an established, close-knit quality group that will consist of approximately eight people, including the Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, Quality Specialist and five Quality Technicians.

This is not a people-management position, but the Quality Engineer will be an important technical resource for the department.

The company wants someone who can work collaboratively with the existing team, introduce new ideas and help people see improvements and change as a positive rather than simply telling them what they are doing wrong.

Relocation assistance is available and can include assistance with the cost of moving household goods. Temporary housing may also be considered depending on the circumstances.
