Quality Engineering / Product Quality Lead - Energy Storage
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering / Product Quality professional to support the development, manufacturing, testing, and deployment of advanced energy storage products. This role will lead quality initiatives across the product lifecycle, from development and production through testing, commissioning, and customer delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing, energy, or renewable energy environments, with a proven ability to identify and resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, analyze quality data, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customer-facing teams.

Key Responsibilities
Quality & Production Support
  • Support and develop global quality programs, processes, and reporting systems across multiple product lines.
  • Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to establish and maintain consistent quality processes.
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement of quality practices across regional and global organizations.
  • Provide quality support throughout manufacturing and product delivery activities.
  • Lead the identification, investigation, and resolution of product and process quality issues.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions across cross-functional teams.
  • Work directly with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and field teams to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Engage directly with operations and production environments to understand problems and implement practical solutions.
Quality Documentation & Records
  • Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective action documentation.
  • Ensure quality documentation complies with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Analyze quality records and trends to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support quality testing and validation of assembled battery energy storage systems.
  • Participate in functional testing, safety inspections, wiring verification, equipment checks, and system-level commissioning activities.
  • Partner with Engineering and Commissioning teams to verify products meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements prior to shipment and deployment.
Quality Issue Triage & Data Analysis
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for quality issue intake and triage.
  • Review, prioritize, and assign quality issues based on severity, technical impact, customer impact, and commercial risk.
  • Reduce issue backlogs through effective prioritization, root-cause analysis, and incorporation of lessons learned.
  • Analyze quality data and trends associated with CAPAs, JIRAs, NCRs, and other quality systems.
  • Use data-driven analysis to identify systemic issues and drive measurable improvements.
Product Development & Readiness
  • Partner with Product Development and Engineering throughout the product development lifecycle and stage-gate process.
  • Provide quality input into product development, design changes, validation, and launch decisions.
  • Ensure products are production-ready, scalable, reliable, and meet established quality requirements before release.
  • Support product launches and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying quality risks early in the development cycle.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in quality engineering, quality management, manufacturing, energy, renewable energy, or a related industry.
  • Proven experience supporting customer-facing project teams and working across complex, global organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing quality non-conformances and driving corrective actions across multiple functions or regions.
  • Strong understanding of at least two of the following areas:
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems
  • Software & Controls
  • Transformers
  • Electrical Systems
  • Civil/Structural Systems
  • Experience developing and implementing proactive quality systems, risk management processes, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to support product readiness, new product introduction, and product launch scalability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use quality data to drive decisions related to cost, performance, reliability, and risk.
  • Experience working with supplier quality, product lifecycle management, engineering changes, and change-control processes.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance requirements associated with product and design changes, including validation, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working across different functions, regions, and cultures.
  • 1-3+ years of experience supporting large-scale renewable energy projects (100 MW+ preferred) or a closely related industry.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret contractual and commercial requirements and establish appropriate positions on behalf of the organization.
Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in battery energy storage, renewable energy, power generation, electrical systems, large-scale manufacturing, or utility-scale energy projects are strongly preferred. Experience working directly with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, commissioning teams, and customers is highly valuable.
