Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and sketches.
  • Extensive knowledge of GD&T principles and applications.
  • Understanding of technical specifications and how to apply them daily.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication across levels.
  • Strong computer skills; ERP system experience preferred for database management.

Responsibilities

  • Assure final product quality through development and implementation of First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Manage customer, government, and third-party visits related to audits and inspections with Quality team.
  • Resolve corrective action requests with customer issues.
  • Input data into customer electronic databases following prescribed formats.
  • Implement root cause/corrective action tools for internal issues.
  • Lead supplier quality investigations with materials or farmout vendors for QE tasks.
  • Review quotes and POs from sales for quality requirements.
  • Train personnel on QMS documents as required.
  • Conduct Gauge R&R studies with Engineering to improve capability.
  • Utilize SPC tools to collect, summarize, and analyze process capability and performance.

Job description

This position requires an organized individual to work in a fast-paced, customer-driven work environment. Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications required. We are seeking a team player with a focus on continuous improvement opportunities. The individual shall also be responsible for assisting and working with others in assuring quality of product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assure final product quality through development and implementation of FAI (First Article Inspection).
  • Manage customer, government, and other third party visits relative to customer, process, product audits, and inspections with the Quality team.
  • Resolve corrective action requests involving customer issues.
  • Input data into the customer's electronic database pursuant to their prescribed format.
  • Implement root cause/corrective action tools to resolve internal issues.
  • Supplier Quality investigations with raw material or farmout vendors for product assigned to QE.
  • Review quotes and purchase orders submitted by sales for quality requirements.
  • Train personnel as required, on any documents in the QMS (Quality Management System).
  • Gauge R&R (repeatability and reproducibility) studies performed and analyzed working with Engineering to improve capability.
  • Use qualitative and statistical methods and tools to collect, summarize, analyze, interpret, and communicate process capability and performance. Use of key SPC (statistical process control) software and related tools.

Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints,engineering drawings, and sketches.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) principles.
  • Understanding of technical specifications coupledwith ability to apply them to daily activities.
  • Excellent ability to communicate written and verbally in the English language with personnel at all levels of the organization, as well as with customers.
  • Strong computer skills in all facets of MS Office; ERP (enterprise resource planning) system preferredfor database management.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time in manufacturing environment.
Education and/or Experience
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline; Bachelor's degree preferred. Or 3 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace and defenseindustry.
