Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Quality Engineer to uphold product and process integrity across manufacturing. You will apply statistical methods and practical engineering knowledge to design, test, and improve quality systems, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining quality protocols, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and leading Six-Sigma style projects to meet strategic goals. On-site role based in Glendale, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 3+ years in manufacturing, quality or process engineering.
• Experience with DMAIC, 8D and 5-Why methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to ensure product/process integrity, including design specs and testing.
• Develop and maintain quality evaluation systems and protocols for materials.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure quality standards.
• Devise methods for inspecting, testing and evaluating product quality and equipment.
• Design and analyse inspection/testing processes and perform statistical analysis.
• Audit quality systems and ensure documentation meets requirements.
• Support Performance Excellence projects (Six-Sigma) using DMAIC/Lean methods.

Job description

Job Duties:

• Encompasses the application of scientific and technological principles concerned with the integrity of manufactured products and processes from an engineering standpoint, esp. design specifications, testing procedures, and minimum quality standards.
• Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
• Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
• Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
• May also be responsible for the unit's Performance Excellence (Six-Sigma) project portfolio, assuring the effective use of different improvement methodologies (DMAIC, Lean, DESGN, etc) toward the achievement of division or plant strategic goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Minimum Experience: 3+ years' experience in manufacturing, quality or process engineering
• Experience in DMAIC, 8D and 5-Why Methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
• PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC,. MSA experience4
• Proficiency in Minitab, JMP, or Power BI
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer- CQE or CQA
• SAP, ETQ or similar ERP system experience
• Project management experience
