Job summary

Zenix Aerospace Ketema facility in El Cajon, CA seeks a Quality Engineer to maintain the quality standards and drive process improvements in our aerospace components production.

The role requires 3+ years in quality/manufacturing, a Bachelor’s degree, and familiarity with ISO, Six Sigma, AS9100; ASQ certifications are a plus. You will review orders, engineering changes, and participate in cross-functional teams.

  • Maintains the quality standards and consistency of products.
  • Reviews customer purchase orders, drawings, quality standards, tolerances, and engineering changes.
  • Create and maintain quality-engineering requirements.
  • Assists in developing procedures, documents, and monitors Quality Management Systems as it relates to customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and measure manufacturing processes to ensure they achieve company quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Develop and suggest methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devise methods to assess cost and responsibility.

What Does the Job Involve?

Maintains the quality standards and consistency of products. Reviews customer purchase orders, drawings, quality standards, tolerances, and engineering changes. Create and maintain quality-engineering requirements. Assists in developing procedures, documents, and monitors Quality Management Systems as it relates to customer and regulatory requirements. Analyze and measure manufacturing processes to ensure they achieve company quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

What Will My Responsibilities Include
  • Ensures compliance with customer requirements, review inspection reports versus customer requirements.
  • Develops and recommends departmental policies, procedures, and programs to ensure departmental effectiveness in meeting assigned customer requirements.
  • Ability to compile complex data packages for customer review and approval, FAIR’s. FPA’s, PPAP’s, APQP’s, PFMEA’s, MSA’s…etc.
  • Develop and suggest methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devise methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • May compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Maintains complex quality records per customer requirements.
  • Study, analyze, develop, document, and monitor quality processes.
  • Determine quality improvement plans relevant to manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Reviews and analyzes customer / purchase order requirements and collaborates with team to prioritize quality efforts.
  • Analyze customer concerns initiate root cause analysis and implement corrective action activities.
  • Review contract and purchase orders to ensure quality specifications and requirements are communicated.
  • Utilize Six Sigma problem solving techniques, advise appropriate management on successful resolution recommendations.
  • Ability to interact professionally at all levels in the organization.
  • Acts as the primary quality contact with assigned customer.
  • Demonstrates initiative and coordinates action to improve overall quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions and complete work independently.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure quality methods are implemented and maintained.
  • Supports and guides efforts to continuously improve company performance related to quality system, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Support and maintain the continuous improvement process by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing manufacturing processes to drive prevention initiatives.

  • Utilization of computerized spreadsheets to conduct analysis.
What Qualifications Should I Have
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASQ certifications a plus.
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in quality and/or manufacturing industry.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Must be detail oriented and be a team player.
  • Experience with ISO, Six Sigma, AS9100, and statistical process controls a plus.
