Job summary

Randstad USA seeks a hands-on Quality Engineer to lead CMM operations, dimensional inspection, and AS9100 quality system processes in an aerospace/defense manufacturing setting.

This role requires experience with very high tolerances, hands-on CMM programming/operation, advanced GD&T proficiency, and knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems to ensure measurement integrity and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in QA in aerospace/defense environments.
• Experience with very high tolerances and CMM operations.
• AS9100 quality management systems experience.
• Strong GD&T proficiency and inspection planning.
• Knowledge of CAPA, audits, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Program, operate, and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (Calypso or equivalent).
• Perform FAI, in-process, and final inspections and ensure measurement traceability.
• Maintain AS9100 compliance and support internal/external audits; lead CAPA.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to establish inspection plans and resolve issues.

Job description

Our client is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to lead CMM operations, dimensional inspection, and quality system processes in an aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This candidate will serve as the primary authority for measurement systems, inspection results, and AS9100 compliance.

Must have experience working with very high tolerances, hands-on CMM programming/operation experience, advanced GD&T proficiency and working knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems.

salary: $83,000 - $85,000 per year

shift: First

work hours: 6 AM - 3 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

• Program, operate, and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (using Calypso or equivalent software). Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections.
• Maintain AS9100 compliance and support internal/external audits. Lead CAPA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage gauge and instrument calibration systems.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T to establish inspection plans. Partner with engineering and production to resolve dimensional issues and reduce scrap.
• Serve as the primary contact for customer quality inquiries, documentation approvals, and issue responses.
