Job summary

Magna International in Bowling Green, Ohio, is seeking a Quality Engineer to coordinate quality planning, implement plant-wide quality systems and drive continual improvement. You will lead cross-functional teams in APQP/PPAP activities, apply statistical methods, and develop inspection instructions and quality alerts.

This role emphasizes problem solving, lean initiatives, and timely corrective actions across production, suppliers, and customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience with APQP, PPAP and QMS documentation.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods for manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates quality planning including control plans, FMEA's, audit/inspection details, sample submissions and training plans for inspection.
  • Applies measures, sampling methods and testing methodologies to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Monitors, reports and improves customer satisfaction performance.
  • Implements and maintains plant-wide quality systems.
  • Participates in development and maintenance of APQP, PPAP, and QMS documentation.
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence.
  • Establishes statistical reliability by using MTBF, Weibull distribution, reliability modeling, and demonstration tests.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to develop Corrective and Preventive Actions for customers, suppliers and production.
  • Creates and maintains quality process inspection instructions, reports, and quality alerts.
  • Participates in preparation and maintenance of process inspection instructions, reports, and quality alerts.
  • Contributes to continual improvement including lean manufacturing, error proofing, and CPk improvement.
