Job Summary

The Quality Coordinator – Cardiovascular is responsible for coordinating and supporting clinical quality initiatives, performance improvement activities, and quality-related operational processes within Cardiovascular Services.

This is an office-based, non-patient-facing position with no direct reports. The Quality Coordinator works closely with clinical, operational, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), and administrative teams to monitor quality performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support high standards of patient care. In-person with 20% travel to meet with providers, must have the ability to commute.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day quality improvement activities supporting Cardiovascular Services.
• Monitor clinical quality measures, patient outcomes, and departmental performance indicators.
• Coordinate chart reviews, quality audits, and documentation reviews to identify gaps and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Track quality metrics and prepare reports, dashboards, and updates for departmental leadership.
• Support Chronic Care Management (CCM), Care/Disease Management (CDM), and other clinical quality initiatives.
• Partner with RCM teams to identify documentation, coding, and workflow issues that may impact quality and reimbursement.
• Coordinate and follow up on quality improvement action plans with clinical and operational teams.
• Assist with regulatory, accreditation, and internal quality requirements.
• Track corrective action plans and follow up on identified deficiencies.
• Support quality-related policies, procedures, workflows, and best practices.
• Provide education and guidance to staff regarding quality standards, documentation requirements, and process improvements.
• Participate in quality meetings, case reviews, and interdisciplinary discussions.
• Assist with preparation for audits, reviews, and quality-related initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, RCM, operations, and administrative teams to improve quality outcomes, patient safety, and care coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field preferred.
• Active RN license preferred; active LPN license accepted.
• 3–5 years of healthcare experience, preferably involving clinical quality, quality improvement, care management, clinical operations, or a related area.
• Experience with quality-of-care reviews, chart audits, performance metrics, corrective action plans, and process improvement preferred.
• Working knowledge of CCM, CDM, population health, or care management programs preferred.
• Cardiovascular, cardiology, or specialty-care experience is a plus.
• Understanding of clinical documentation, quality measures, coding, and Revenue Cycle Management.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements, quality standards, and patient safety principles.
• Ability to collect, track, and report clinical quality and performance data.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and follow-up activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and quality reporting/data-tracking tools.
