Position Overview
Responsible for performing quality control testing and monitoring of crushed aggregates, recycled materials, and hot mix asphalt mixtures produced at assigned location. This role is located in Wharton, NJ, but employees may be required to travel to other sites.

- Work safely, complying with all OSHA, MSHA regulations and Tilcon environmental, health and safety policies.

- Provide test data to plant manager and other plant personnel in a timely manner.
- Offer process and mix adjustment recommendations as required.
- Maintain current State agency QC/QA certifications, staying in compliance with agency specifications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data base and record logs.
- Support internal customers (sales, construction, estimating, operations, senior management) and external customers by reviewing material specifications and test results.
- Ensure regular and timely attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Marginal Duties and Functions
- Share and implement best practices for efficient laboratory and plant operations.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties.
- Perform business administrative duties such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience Required:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or 3+ years of practical work experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.E.) from a four‑year college or university.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Work Requirements
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and company procedures.
- Ability to work scheduled overtime, weekends and night shifts as needed.
- Availability for emergency overtime and occasional weekend hours.
- Ability to travel to various job sites several times a week.
- Ability to carry out standardized laboratory tests in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Read English language sufficient to understand specifications, reports, manuals and regulations.
- Use a computer to communicate and analyze data (Outlook, MS Office, web-based programs).
- Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another.
