Job summary

Wells is seeking a Quality Technician to perform inspections, tests, and quality checks on structural precast concrete products. You will work closely with production and quality teams to ensure all items meet PCI, company, and project specifications before shipment.

The role requires reading blueprints, using precision measuring tools, and maintaining documentation, with shifts from 10 am - 8:30 pm or 3 pm - 1:30 am. A strong focus on safety and accuracy is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in construction, concrete production, precast concrete, ready-mix operations, oilfield services, or similar hands-on industrial environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Ability to use measuring and testing tools accurately
  • Basic math skills and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures
  • ACI or PCI certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-pour, post-pour, and final inspections on precast concrete products
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials, equipment, or test results to QC leadership
  • Ensure products meet PCI, company, and project specifications prior to shipment
  • Maintain accurate quality control documentation in compliance with required standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, production drawings, and project specifications
  • Use testing tools and equipment such as slump cones, air meters, scales, ovens, and sieves
  • Conduct accurate measurements using tape measures and other precision tools
  • Perform basic material testing and analysis to support quality assurance processes
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas while following all safety procedures
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and QC teams to resolve quality issues

About The Role

The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections, tests, and quality checks throughout the production process for structural and architectural precast concrete products. This role ensures all products meet PCI, company, and project specifications prior to shipment. The Quality Technician works closely with production and quality teams to identify issues, maintain documentation, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Multiple Shifts Available
  • 1st Shift: 10 am - 8:30 pm
  • 3rd Shift: 3 pm - 1:30 am

What You’ll Do

Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high-visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
