Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to perform analyses, inspections, and tests on materials and products to ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance. You will prepare reports, monitor quality statistics, and support conformance to procedures.

The role requires an Associate's Degree with relevant experience and may involve work in a dynamic manufacturing environment at Newport News. Relocation is not offered, and travel is possible.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 1 year of relevant experience required.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate.
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate.
• High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.
• High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs analyses, inspection, and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, quantitative assays on samples, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property.
• Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance.
• Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports.
