Job summary

SRM Concrete in Houston is seeking a Quality Control Technician to help ensure our ready-mix concrete meets industry standards for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects.

We provide training for those new to quality control, offer day and overnight shifts, and reward reliability with bonuses, raises, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts (day and overnight).
• On-the-job training provided for newcomers to QC or concrete industry.
• ACI certification or willingness to obtain it is a plus.
• Degree preferred but not required.
• Experience in QC, QA, or construction materials is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Pre-employment screenings required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished ready mix concrete using industry-standard methods.
• Interpret test results and compare them to established specifications and control limits.
• Conduct visual inspections of concrete products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
• Deliver quality control training to production staff as directed by management or technical services.
• Maintain accurate records of tests, analyses, and quality-related activities.
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to help improve our quality control processes.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Concrete Management, Construction Management, or related field is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, or construction materials is a plus, but not required.
