Brooklyn Bottling in Milton, NY seeks a Quality Control Technician for the PM shift on-site. The role ensures products meet quality standards through routine analyses and tests throughout production.

The candidate will perform physical and chemical tests, maintain HACCP compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a union environment. Strong detail orientation and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year associate degree in chemistry, biology, or laboratory science preferred.
• Strong attention to details and high accuracy.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Speak, read, and write English required; Spanish and/or French a plus.
• Must perform basic mathematical calculations and be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analyses of raw materials and products at all stages of production.
• Identify product quality attributes to meet customer specifications.
• Conduct physical and chemical tests (brix, total acidity, pH, fill heights, volumes, torque).
• Review and update operating procedures; assist in problem solving.
• Recommend parameter adjustments to achieve highest quality within equipment limits.
• Monitor HACCP and food safety compliance.
• Assert conformity of materials against specifications in QC inspections.
• Document results and communicate quality issues to QC/QA Lead.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Quality Control Technician (PM Shift) Job Type: Full-Time Union Position: Yes Location: Milton, NY; On-site Shift: Monday - Saturday, 3:00 pm - 12:00 am FLSA Status: Non-exempt Compensation: $17.50 per hour, W/.25 differintal.

Position Summary

The quality control technician maintains and enforces the organization's quality system procedures, ensuring that products and services meet quality standards.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials and products at all stages of the production chain, following validated methodologies.
• Responsible for product quality control, identifying the characteristics that products and services must have in order to satisfy customers. .
• Performs physical and physical-chemical tests to analyze the properties of products, brix,
• Total Acidity, Ph, fill heights, volumes, torque test etc.
• Reviews and updates operating procedures and may provide input to analytical or instrumental problem solving.
• Recommends modifications to existing standard quality or production parameters to obtain the highest quality within the capacity limits of the equipment.
• Control of HACCP and Food Safety compliance.
• It establishes the conformity or not of raw materials, intermediates and packaging material, from the point of view of the specifications established in quality control.
• Implementation of quality indicators based on continuous improvement.
• Finished goods checks in a timely manner and ensured all specifications are met adequately.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Computer literate.
• Able to perform physical and mental work that requires total concentration and precision.
• Be self-motivated and be able to manage your time wisely in order to accomplish all the daily tasks required, such as water checks, line checks, approvals, calibrations etc.
• Be able to understand and follow all company policies, practices and SOP's.
• Ensure that all SOP's are followed to prevent any product defects.
• Communicate & coordinate quality issues & activities with QC/QA Lead
• Follow all Customer's quality requirements provided.
• Provide QC/QA Team support for the plant Quality Program.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the QC/QA Lead or QC/QA Supervisor / Manager.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Must possess strong attention to details and perform all tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Speak, read, and write English required.
• Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish and/or French a plus.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including, but not limited to Excel and Word.
