Job summary

Custom Truck One Source is seeking a part-time Quality Control Technician in Lynchburg, VA. The role covers all quality checks of equipment before departure from site, including visual, mechanical inspections and dielectric tests.

You will document QA issues, ensure safety and industry standards, prepare units for delivery, and assist the QC Manager with data and defect resolution. Requires 3+ years QA/testing and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Quality inspection and testing experience (3+ yrs).
• Knowledge of tools: hand tools and gauges.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and basic electrical wiring.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read and follow customer specifications.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Summary

Quality Control tech is responsible for all quality checks of equipment before departure of site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct visual and mechanical inspection and dielectric test, and tests on unit to ensure finished product quality and performance.
• Document and report quality assurance issues.
• Assure ongoing compliance with safety, quality, and industry requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring the units standard of quality including reliability, usability, and performance.
• Prepare unit for delivery to customer.
• Record data from test procedures and inspections
• Support Quality Control manager on data and documentation of defects to resolve solution of deficiency.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair warranty issues pertaining to the unit.
• Complies with company’s safety, quality procedures and policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Quality inspection and testing experience (3+ yrs. )
• Knowledge of tools: hand tools and gauges
• Knowledge of some hydraulics and electrical wiring
• Ability to operate forklift.
• Communication skills- verbal and written.
• Good decision and judgement skills
• Teamwork
• Ability to read and follow customer specifications on finished units.
• Knowledge of weights and measurements
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be self-sufficient.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to complete DOT, ANSI Crane or Bucket and Dielectric tests highly desirable.
• Individuals with current crane and bucket certifications are preferred.

Working Conditions

• The job is performed under extreme temperature variations and some hazardous conditions.
• Must be able to safely operate equipment at heights up to and exceeding 100 feet.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout a 10–12-hour day, and up to 60 hours per week.
