Job summary

Olen Corporation, in partnership with Area Aggregates, invites applicants for a Quality Control Technician at our Ohio operations. You will test aggregates to ensure compliance with federal, state, and customer specs, and work with plant personnel, sales, and regulators.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, attention to detail, and obtaining ODOT Level 1 and 2 certifications. We offer health insurance, PTO, 401(k) with match, and a safety‑driven team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with aggregate lab equipment and QC testing.
• Knowledge of QC data and reporting.
• Good mathematical and data tracking skills.
• Ability to operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform aggregate sampling, testing, and analysis.

Quality Control Technician

The QC Technician is responsible for the testing of aggregate to ensure adherence to federal, state, and/or customer specifications. Assuring aggregates production process is within the specification guidelines. This position works with aggregate plant personnel, aggregate sales personnel, construction foreman, engineering and governmental agencies.

• Perform aggregate sampling, testing, and analysis.
• Responsible for keeping accurate records of testing results.
• Responsible for daily cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of laboratory and laboratory supplies.
• Complete governmental and customer reports for test results.
• Communicate testing results to the plant, sales personnel, construction personnel, and government agencies.
• Investigate customer complaints regarding discrepancies between test results and aggregate received.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of aggregate quality control data.
• Experience with aggregate lab equipment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of aggregate production process and stockpiling practices.
• Possess good mathematical skills.
• Must be capable of operating the assigned machine/equipment in a safe manner so as not to jeopardize their safety, the safety of others around him and all other related equipment.
• Must complete ODOT Level 1 and Level 2 certification.

• Lifting aggregate samples +/-50 lbs.
• Ability to stand / walk +/-8 hours.
• Exposure to high heat, dust, and noise.
