Job summary

Qualifications

• English and math skills are required.
• Experience in the food industry is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with SQF, GMPs, chemistry, microbiology, analytical instruments and the scientific method.

Responsibilities

• Assist QC technicians with day-to-day issues.
• Provide temporary coverage for QC functions or shifts.
• File, review, and verify SQF and other quality-related documents.
• Assist in creating and verifying Certificates of Analysis (COA) for finished products.
• Maintain inventory and place orders for QC, office, and lab supplies.
• Perform routine laboratory tests (pH, moisture, fat, Brix) on raw materials and finished products.
• Conduct environmental testing through swabbing, allergen testing, and microbiological analyses.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain testing records.
• Support internal audits, GMP inspections, and SQF validations.
• Update and review laboratory procedures and QC forms.
• Enter data from laboratory tests and QC activities.
• Coordinate environmental and sanitation meetings.
• Assist with special projects alongside QA management.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and chemical inventory.
• Dispose of chemical waste per regulations.
