Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a highly motivated technician for its Apprentice/Journey program at the Burlington Generating Station. You will perform chemical analyses on coal, water, and related samples and prepare reports needed for environmental compliance.

Travel to other plant locations may be required to support operations and training. The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, calibration of instruments, safe chemical handling, and data entry to maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Possess skills in basic mathematics, electricity, chemistry, and can demonstrate the ability to perform work requirements on a computer.
• Interest and aptitude for analytical work.
• Knowledge of plant systems.
• Ability to work at high elevations.
• Must be able to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab work and tests related to the operation of the generating station.

Responsible for test analysis and reporting related to environmental regulations.This position may require travel to other plant locations to support operational, training, and business needs.What you will doResponsible for performing lab work, tests and analysis relating to the maintenance and operation of an electric generating station. Assists in preparing reports; maintains records, completing paperwork, station statistics and computer entry.Responsible for completing and reporting environmental reports, including State and Federal reports for CEM equipment.Performs tests and analysis as required by environmental regulations.
