Job summary

North Branch Construction is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to ensure quality throughout all construction phases and work closely with the site superintendent and project manager. The role focuses on proactive issue identification, avoiding rework, and protecting schedule and budget.

The QC Specialist will verify inspections, testing, submittals, and corrective actions, maintaining thorough QC/QA documentation and supporting onsite teams to deliver a high-quality finished product.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
  • Knowledge of construction specifications, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and contract docs.
  • Ability to address quality concerns professionally while maintaining relations with field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in preconstruction and startup meetings to set quality expectations.
  • Establish quality benchmarks and acceptance standards with teams.
  • Coordinate mock-ups, first-work inspections, testing, and inspections.
  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections to verify conformance to plans and specs.
  • Verify installation methods, materials, dimensions, elevations, finishes, and workmanship.
  • Monitor critical activities including structural, envelope, roofing, waterproofing, MEP, interiors, and site work.
  • Ensure inspections and testing are completed and documented.
  • Document deficiencies with photos, descriptions, responsibilities, and corrective actions.
  • Work with Superintendents and subcontractors to resolve quality issues in the field.
  • Verify materials, submittals, and site conditions are ready before installation.
  • Maintain QC/QA inspection records and documentation.
  • Maintain photographic documentation of quality and corrective work.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and field changes that affect quality.
  • Track testing reports, inspection reports, manufacturer certifications, and closeout docs.

Quality Control Specialist

The QC Specialist works with the job site superintendent and project manager to ensure quality work throughout all phases of construction. This role takes a proactive approach to quality by identifying potential issues before installation, verifying work throughout construction, documenting deficiencies, and confirming that corrective actions are completed. The goal of this position is to reduce rework, improve consistency, protect the project schedule and budget, and deliver a high-quality finished product to the client.

Responsibilities
