Job summary

Amrize in Celina, TX is seeking a Quality Control Technician Apprentice to learn on active projects and develop hands-on skills in concrete QC. The role focuses on sampling, testing and documentation under supervision, with structured mentorship and rapid onboarding.

You will participate in an accelerated program, gain practical QC experience, and contribute to safe, compliant testing processes while supporting production teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Basic math skills and knowledge of statistics.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accelerated Competency Program: Prioritizes rapid proficiency during the initial 60-day onboarding phase.
• Mentorship-Led Onboarding: Highlights daily guidance and support from experienced senior staff.
• Collects samples and performs accurate quality control testing to ensure product quality under supervision.
• Assist in the preparation and testing of laboratory concrete trial batches.
• Examines laboratory samples to determine their physical properties and determine conformity.
• Provides verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner.
• Prepare required documents with test results to be presented to production personnel and quality control management.
• Learns to ensure that all testing is conducted efficiently and consistently to ensure accurate results.
• Assists with customer service issues as directed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Ensure that safety, compliance and environmental requirements are followed.
• Learning and application of skills.
• Basic computer skills including basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Basic math skills and knowledge of statistics.
• Ability to obtain ACI concrete and aggregate certifications as required.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
