Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician A (Machinery Inspector) in Pascagoula, MS to perform in-process, in-bound, and final inspections ensuring ABS/USCG compliance and adherence to owner specs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Inspects parts, products and processes to ensure conformance with standards, specifications or regulations.
• Conducts tests to verify dimensions, strengths and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Completes inspection records and reports.
• Sets up inspections by ABS and U.S. Coast Guard based on rules and regulations.
• Develops and conducts tests on inbound materials from vendors and outbound products for shipping.
• Ensures all quality check procedures are followed during every production phase.
• Creates comprehensive documentation for quality issues and corrective actions.
• Educates production team on quality control issues and works with managers to improve safety and product quality.
• Creates process checklists and coordinates quality inspections with departmental managers.

GENERAL FUNCTION: Performs in-process, in-bound, and final inspections of manufactured products to ensure compliance with quality standards, owner specifications, American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) and or United States Coast Guard (USCG) requirements.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects parts, products and or processes to insure conformance with standards, specifications or regulations.
• Conducts tests to verify specified dimensions, strengths and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Completes inspection records and reports.
• Sets up inspections by ABS and U.S. Coast Guard based on rules and regulations.
• Develop and conduct a variety of tests on inbound materials from vendors and outbound products for shipping.
• Ensure that all of the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase.
• Create comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken.
• Educate production team on quality control issues and work with departmental managers to improve overall company safety and product quality.
• Create process checklists and coordinate quality inspections with departmental managers.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

High School diploma with 5 – 10 years of broad shipyard experience in various craft areas required. Certification in quality control is preferred. Ability to read blueprints
