Job summary

Qnity in Ohio is seeking a Laboratory Technician to execute routine tests and support quality control processes in a fast-paced electronics environment. You will prepare samples, operate lab equipment, and document results following safety and quality standards.

The role demands attention to detail, strong data collection, and the ability to communicate findings to internal teams. Experience with SPC and MS Office is helpful, and a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; QA or lab training preferred.
  • Experience in a laboratory testing environment (Quality Control or Analytical).
  • Familiarity with ISO-9001 or IATF 16949 quality systems preferred.
  • Strong communication, data collection, and attention to detail.
  • Experience using SPC programs is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Receiving, In-process and Final Product Testing
  • Conduct lab tests: hardness, tensile, thermal conductivity, viscosity, density
  • Release incoming raw materials and finished products
  • Communicate with internal customers on quality issues
  • Collect and report SPC data for quality metrics
  • Maintain test records and databases for compliance
  • Assist Process/Quality Engineers with corrective actions
  • Test pilot and scale-up material batches
  • Support day-to-day activities of the Quality department

The Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory tests, analyses, and procedures to support quality control, research, development, or diagnostic activities. The role involves preparing samples, operating laboratory equipment, recording results, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Receiving, In-process and Final Product Testing
  • Conduct laboratory testing including hardness, tensile/compression, thermal conductivity, viscosity, density testing, and other specialized testing
  • Release incoming raw materials and finished products
  • Communicate with internal customers regarding quality issues and nonconformances
  • Collect and record Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and prepare associated reports
  • Maintain test records and databases to demonstrate compliance with customer requirements
  • Support Process and Quality Engineers with corrective action activities as required
  • Test Pilot and Scale Up material batches
  • Support the Quality Department’s day-to-day activities
Requirements
  • Experience with either ISO-9001 or IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems preferred
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in a laboratory testing environment in either Quality Control or Analytical
  • Manage rejected material and assigned MRB activities as required
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good data collection and analysis skills with strong attention to details
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Previous use of SPC programs preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and MS Word
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally
