Job summary

Accelera is seeking a skilled quality inspector to verify products against design specifications. You will inspect raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods using CMMs, calipers, and micrometers, interpreting complex drawings and applying GD&T.

You’ll log results, report nonconformities, and support supplier quality with corrective actions. The role requires 2–3 years of QC experience in a machine shop, strong math and communication skills, and familiarity with QA systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years experience in quality control, preferably in a machine shop.
• Ability to interpret complex customer drawings and apply GD&T.
• Practical experience with micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
• Experience programming and running coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Ability to manage first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Basic math and calculator proficiency.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software applications.
• MS Outlook, Excel, and Word proficiency.
• 20/20 vision (corrected or uncorrected).
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems is a plus.
• Experience with Mitutoyo CMM/MCOSMOS, E2 JobBoss2, MeasurLink SPC preferred.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform thorough quality assessments on raw materials, ongoing production, and completed goods to verify they meet established standards.
• Analyze technical blueprints and documentation to guarantee that every customer requirement and quality benchmark is achieved.
• Employ advanced measuring devices such as CMMs, calipers, and micrometers to validate dimensions and tolerances.
• Log and report any instances where products fail to meet the required specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production staff to help ensure quality concerns are addressed and resolved efficiently.
• Keep precise and organized logs of all testing, inspection results, and compliance metrics.
• Assemble necessary documentation packages for our customers.
• Manage communications regarding supplier quality, including reporting defects and coordinating necessary corrective actions.
• Contribute to the success of 5S initiatives and broader continuous improvement programs.
• Foster a collaborative atmosphere to help maintain a healthy and efficient workplace for the entire team.
• Adhere to a consistent and reliable attendance schedule.
• Provide support for departmental audits and additional quality tasks as requested.

Essential Qualifications

• Completion of High School or an equivalent degree
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in quality control, ideally within a machine shop setting
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex customer drawings and apply GD&T principles effectively.
• Practical experience operating standard inspection tools like micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
• Proven background in programming and running Coordinate Measuring Machines.
• Capability to manage first article, in-process, and final inspections independently to ensure high-speed production compliance.
• Competence in basic math and calculator usage.
• Meticulous attention to detail to help ensure all product discrepancies are caught and corrected.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software applications
• Operational proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Visual acuity of 20/20, corrected or uncorrected, to handle intricate tasks
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems is considered an asset
