Job summary

Ozinga Bros, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure concrete and materials meet specifications.

You will perform slump, air, unit weight, temperature, and strength tests, input results into QC software, and help maintain quality across production sites. The role requires sampling of aggregates, monitoring equipment tolerances, and effective communication with dispatchers and supervisors to support timely delivery and testing.

Qualifications

• ACI Level 1 or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments.
• Experience with concrete testing and QC procedures.
• Strong data entry and management in QC software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct concrete testing (slump, air, unit weight, temperature, compressive strength) and input results into QC software.
• Material evaluation by sampling and analyzing aggregates and batch plant inputs for quality and consistency.
• Monitor equipment operation to ensure products remain within set tolerances and specifications.
• Record and manage inspection data, strength results, and quality software for assigned areas.
• Analyze and resolve quality-related customer concerns based on product conditions and performance.
• Coordinate with supervisors, dispatchers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery and testing of concrete.

Salary: $51,000 - $64,000 Annually

Summary: The Quality Control Technician will implement and comply with quality assurance methods and procedures to ensure products and materials are produced in accordance with specifications in a safe and efficient manner.

Job Duties and Qualifications:

• Conduct Concrete Testing: Perform tests on concrete (slump, air, unit weight, temperature, compressive strength) to ensure compliance with specifications and input results into quality control software.
• Material Evaluation: Sample and analyze raw materials such as aggregates and batch plant inputs for quality and consistency.
• Equipment & Tolerance Monitoring: Observe equipment operation to verify products remain within set tolerances and specifications.
• Data Management: Record and manage inspection data, strength results, and quality software for assigned areas.
• Customer Issue Resolution: Analyze and resolve quality-related customer concerns based on product conditions and performance.
• Communication & Coordination: Coordinate with supervisors, dispatchers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery and testing of concrete.
• Certifications & Physical Demands: ACI Level 1 or equivalent certifications preferred, valid driver’s license, and ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor and fast-paced environments.
